Quantity Surveyors/ Claims Researchers

The Contracts Group are seeking Project Quantity Surveyors/ Claims Researchers to work in our clients' offices in Hong Kong. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years' experience, experience of major civil engineering projects and building projects. All candidate should be able to work as part of a team or independently.

Job Requirements:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying
  • Professional Qualification is required
  • Minimun 5 years' contract administration experience on major projects is required
  • Proven ability to work independently essential
  • Good analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Postitive and proactive attitude with strong sense of responsbility
  • Fast learner and a good team player
  • Detail-minded and self-motivated
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Putonghua desirable, but not essential
  • Good computer knowlegde

E&M Manager (QS)

The Contracts Group are seeking an E&M Manager (QS) to work in our client's office/ site office in Hong Kong International Airport. Candidates should have a minimum of 15 years' experience, management role experience on major MEP systems. All candidate should be able to work as part of a team or independently. The E&M Manager will provide a leading role in supervising the APM and BHS Tunnels E&M Contract to implement cost control of E&M related design changes, interim payments, measurement of completed E&M and system works and related variations and settlement of final accounts during the construction stage.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related Building Services discipline
  • Professional Qualification an advantage
  • Minimun 15 years' experience is required
  • Good analytical, communication, and presentation skills

Project Quantity Surveyors

Senior Planning Engineer / Forensic Delay Analyst

The Contracts Group urgently require a Senior Planning Engineer to assist us. Candidates should be flexible and be able to provide a variety of assistance, including tender planning, construction planning, forensic delay analysis and assistance to directors including work in support of litigation / arbitration / mediation work and production of expert programming reports. The applicants need to have a minimum of 10+ years' experience, salary will be commensurate with experience.

The appropriate candidate should be proficient in the use of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and other similar programming software, experience of Civil Engineering and Building works is a prerequisite.  Candidates with an ability to use BIM will be given priority, but such requirement is not a prerequisite. All candidates should be able to work as part of a team or independently.  We will also consider applicants who are able to work on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Development of the works baseline programme using Primavera P6.
  • Fact-finding to detailed analysis, identification of critical path, quantification of delay and damages.
  • Production rate analysis and work cycle analysis to demonstrate entitlement to EoT
  • Drafting of claim and negotiation documents
  • Preparation in anticipation for defences to counterclaims and advice regarding retrospective analysis for EOTs, prolongation costs, disruption, programme and delay analysis critiques.

Skills:

  • Suitable applicants for this challenging role will have experience in construction planning and forensic delay analysis on complex multi-discipline projects in civil engineering, building and major infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrable experience of Impacted as-planned analysis and Collapsed as-built analysis
  • Strong programming skills, particularly using Primavera P6
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential, Written and spoken Cantonese a definite advantage.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience.
  • Relevant degree in engineering, building engineering or equivalent is required.

Associate Director

Responsibilities:

The Contracts Group is seeking an experienced, qualified individual who has held senior positions in construction. Applicants' backgrounds should include:

  • Experience of working on building and civil engineering projects.
  • Dispute resolution, arbitration, mediation and litigation support work.
  • Expert witness work would be an advantage.
  • Professional contractual and claims preparation, advice and assistance
  • Contracts administration
  • The applicant is likely to be a Qualified Quantity Surveyor, but applicants with the appropriate experience and other qualifications will be considered.
  • Spoken and written Cantonese preferred. Spoken Putonghua is also an advantage.

Requirements:

The successful applicant should be able to integrate with the management team and assist with daily operations and identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities to continue the company's expansion throughout the region. This is a long term career position and there will be an opportunity for promotion to director level after a successful preliminary phase.
