The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), launched in 2013, is China's central foreign policy with an emphasis on economic diplomacy and global infrastructure development projects. Since its inception, the BRI has been a flexible initiative without a centralised legal framework. This panel will explore the issues around managing the BRI's legal, regulatory, and political risks, and if there is potential for investment treaty arbitration to also play a significant part in BRI disputes.
