In recent years, building information modelling (BIM) has been a mandated application in Government Capital works projects with project estimates more than $30 Million. There are anticipated benefits of using BIM in project management at design and construction stages to more sophisticated BIM uses on digital fabrication and asset management. Apart from the Government BIM projects, private developers have also begun to adopt BIM in their projects, this has escalated the demand for certified BIM personnel. Should quantity surveyors need to get BIM qualifications? If yes, how to get them?
